Gamètì
  • The Gamètì water treatment system consists of a single truckfill intake built in 1993.
  • The system draws its water from Rae Lake. There is a single inclined shaft with a submersed centrifugal pump that sits 67m offshore.
  • The water truck driver uses a single switch on the outside of the building, which activates the truckfill arm via the submersed pump.
  • The truckfill arm contains a flow switch that activates the chlorine pump in order to disinfect the water.
  • Chlorine levels are checked daily and adjusted.
  • The town uses one truck with a 9000-litre tank and has another truck used for back up.
