Jean Marie River
  • The Jean Marie River water treatment system consists of a seasonal fill reservoir and a water intake system, both of which where built in 1995.
  • The reservoir is filled once a year using a portable diesel pump.
  • Water feeds into the treatment system from a submersible pump on an inclined shaft.
  • The water truck operator uses controls located on the outside of the building to activate the pump.
  • A flow switch then activates the chlorine pump to disinfect the water.
  • Chlorine levels are checked daily and adjusted.
  • The town has one 3,000-litre water delivery truck.
