- Raw water is pumped into the reservoir via HDPE pipes with a submersible turbine pump.
- The water treatment subsystem uses dual greensand filters operating in parallel to remove sulphur and manganese.
- Chlorine and potassium permanganate are used to oxidize iron and manganese to be filtered out.
- Treated water is stored in a 19,500-litre aboveground HDPE tank
- Chlorine is added through a flow switch within the lines to prevent bacterial growth within the holding tank.
- A control panel on the outside of the building allows for the water truck operator to activate the truckfill arm which also has a flow switch activating a chlorine pump to further disinfect the water as it goes into the truck.
- The community has one 2,900-litre water truck and a 2,200-litre steel tank mounted on a trailer for emergency use.
