The Directorate The directorate manages the department as a whole. The Deputy Minister and senior managers work together to lead the department in providing effective services. The directorate also includes the Corporate Services Division, which provides 4 internal services: policy financial administration information technology. Records management services for the NWT government are also part of the division.

Asset Management Division Asset Management provides technical support to our regional staff and to other departments. They estimate the cost of building construction and renovation consult in the plan of buildings so they meet program needs review consultant designs of buildings and works partner in implementing the Safe Drinking Water Initiative manage leases and property advise about procurement and contracting carry out technical evaluations of buildings and works co-ordinate supplies of gravel for construction advise on maintenance and operation of GNWT buildings Electrical/Mechanical Safety regulates activities under 3 Acts: Electrical Protection Boilers and Pressure Vessels Gas Protection. Petroleum Products The Petroleum Products division manages fuel supply to communities not served by the private sector. Staff are located in Fort Simpson, Yellowknife, and Inuvik. Technology Service Centre Technology Service Centre is responsible for operation of applications run on the GNWT mainframe computers technical support for systems located in the Yellowknife data centre wide area data communications network, connecting all NWT communities some voice communications services for Yellowknife. Regional Office Contacts and Locations Regional offices deliver direct services to departments and the public.
