Ecole Allain St-Cyr is a 1500 sq. metre , multi-purpose facility. The school has 6 classrooms for a maximum of 132 Francophone students from kindergarten to grade 12. A daycare with a separate entrance has room for up to 30 children. The facility is also used by the French community of Yellowknife as a cultural centre.

The rotunda is the multi-purpose focal point of the building. It can serve as a community hall or as a theatre with seating for 250. During school hours, it can be configured to serve as 2 classrooms.

The building uses a displacement ventilation system. Fresh air enters every room at the floor level and the stale air is exhausted at the ceiling level. The building also features an in-floor heating system.
