The Technology Service Centre (TSC) manages the information technology (IT) environment for the GNWT. The TSC provides enterprise-wide services, such as e-mail and other communication tools, hosts many department applications and websites, and provides workplace support to GNWT employees. Most importantly, the TSC supports government departments in their delivery of programs and services to residents of the NWT by doing the following things:

Providing workplace support to GNWT employees
The TSC supports GNWT employees’ desktop computers, laptop computers, printers, and scanners. With its Service Desk and a closely monitored issue resolution process, the TSC provides troubleshooting for all hardware and software issues.

Hosting applications
Many GNWT websites, corporate applications, and department-specific applications are hosted on TSC servers. Servers are powerful computers that deliver information and software to other computers.

Providing network services
The TSC provides secure and reliable network services, which staff use to share information across the government offices of the Northwest Territories.

Helping departments select and implement technology solutions
The TSC works closely with government departments, boards, agencies and authorities to ensure the IT components of their projects and services are effectively delivered. By proactively understanding the IT needs of its GNWT clients, the TSC takes a planned approach to manage its time and resources for different government projects.
